Growing up in Omaha was a incredible — listening to Lyle Bremser broadcast Huskers games while we played football in the side yard, exploring the Platte River, hunting and fishing with my Dad and brother…all great memories. I remember mowing lawns while in middle school so I could buy a stereo (I still have those speakers), and working in a South Omaha packing house to help pay for college. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from UN-Lincoln and a Master of Arts in English from Truman State University.
I got involved as a Resident Advisor in college, a position that led to 20+ years in higher education at four different universities. Higher education has given me some great memories (meeting Jim Lovel, introducing Dave Chappelle and Wyclef Jean for concerts, helping students develop and get that first job out of college) and some great challenges (evacuating 450 freshman from a Residence Hall during a fire).
When I’m not at my day job I spend loads of time with my people – wife, kids, extended family and friends. I like to hunt, fish, exercise, spend time outdoors, build computers and of course, photography.
